Coaching Certification

All coaches (head as well as assistant) in both baseball and softball who have intentions of coaching in Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth sanctioned all-star tournaments must be certified prior to the start of the 2008 all-star season.

This coaching certification has been mandated by the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth national organization.  Thus, any coaches wishing to compete at the District, State, Ohio Valley Regional, and World Series levels must show proof of completion of the coach's certification when credentials are submitted at the District level. 

All FKCC all-star coaches in both baseball and softball must show proof of their coach's certification by the last day of our League tournament week.  Any coaches that cannot produce their certificate of completion will not be allowed to participate as an all-star coach.

The cost of the coach's certification course is $19.95 and it can only be completed on-line.  Completion of the course will be considered life-time certification.  All coaches will be responsible for the cost of this certification program.  The Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth national organization has stated that they will honor accredited certification programs from other organizations (i.e. Little League).  If you wish to present certification from another organization, it needs to be presented to the FKCC All-Star coordinator in a timely enough manner so that this outside certification can be validated and confirmed. 

The on-line website  is www.baberuthleague.org.  If you are not already registered with the website, you will have to register in order to obtain a user ID and password to sign-up for the on-line certification course.  To access the on-line certification course, go to the "Coaches" area of the Babe Ruth League Coaching Education Center. 

Once you enter this area of the website, follow the prompts for "purchase course" and it will guide you through the checkout process for buying the course.  Both VISA and Mastercard are acceptable forms of payment for this course.

It is estimated that completion of the course will take approximately two to three hours.  Completion of the course does not have to be done in one session.  You can complete a specific section of the course and then log-out and complete additional sections of the course at a later time.

Upon completion of the certification course, all coaches will have the ability to print a certificate of completion and wallet card directly from the website.  Make sure that you print this prior to leaving the website because once you leave the website you cannot reenter again to print off the certificate of completion or wallet card.
